BASF looking for Industrial Partners in 2009-2010

BASF is the world´s leading chemical company. Its "Agricultural Solutions" branch ranks third worlwide for plant protection products ; the BASF Agri-Production production facility of Saint-Aubin les Elbeuf (280 employees) is attached to this branch. The active materials produced at the facility supply the production facilities designing the BASF group’s phytosanitary products.

Since BASF acquired the Saint-Aubin les Elbeuf site from Bayer in 2003, the 34 hectares industrial complex has been co-managed by BASF (16 hectares) and Sanofi-Aventis . Both groups have rolled out an original partnership where mutually beneficial services are pooled and fixed costs are shared. Drawing on this experience, and for the purpose of offsetting the gradual shutdown of the production of two active materials (aclonifen and iprodione) as of 2009-2010, BASF Agri-Production is forging industrial partnerships at the Saint-Aubin les Elbeuf site. As an exemple of this opening up to external productions, two of the five workshops equipped to manufacture a wide range of complex chemical products and other production-related services, such as the BASF chemical sreening laboratory at the site, would be made available to outside businesses.
